FACILITIES

LIBRARY

The School has a modest but well maintained Library which comprises of interesting reading materials for the children as well as reference books both for the students and the teachers. it also has an audio-video/ cassette and CDs section having a variety of educational, audio and video cassettes and CDs. The School also subscribes to some of the leading dailies (newspapers) and periodicals (Magazines). Children spend at least one period a week in the library to improve their reading skills. The library is kept open for project work. There is an experienced Librarian to guide the Children.

SCIENCE LAB

There are three laboratories for physics, Chemistry and Biology to meet the requirements of the senior secondary school students and to inculcate scientific attitude and appreciation through practical teaching. All the labs are equipped with the most modern facilities and instruments to cater to needs of the students.

COMPUTER LAB

To prepare the students to face the challenges of the 21st century, the school has computer education. The students are taught programming skills starting with the basics of computer so as to make them competent users to explore and excel in the field of IT.

STATIONERY STORE

Books and Stationery items for class nursery to class X are provided by the school, which is charged once in a year at the beginning of the session.

SCHOOL MAGAZINE AND CREATIVE WRITING

The school brings out a tri-lingual school magazine every year. This is to provide an opportunity for the children to display their creative writing. The magazine includes articles stories, poems interviews, school news and events, jokes, cartoons, riddles, dialogues, brain teasers and many other interesting topics. Besides these, there are varieties of creative writing in each classroom prepared by the class teacher and students.

MAJOR EVENTS

Major events in the academic session include founders’ Day cultural program on parents’ Day, Teachers’ Day, Children’s Day, and Sports Meet, Science, Art and  Craft Exhibition, fete, picnic etc. parents and guests are  invited on important occasions.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

The school provides a wide range of organized activities for developing personality, confidence and leadership quality among the children. The activities include:

Literary: Story writing, recitation, quiz, elocution (public speaking), debate, spelling contest, essay writing etc. (depending upon the age and standard of the student).

Games and Sports:

The school has outdoor and indoor games facilities such as regular jogging (boarders), drills, athletics, football, throwball, Volleyball, badminton, basketball, swimming, table tennis, carom,  chess etc. The School organizes a sports meet. The school has a children’s park for small children’s park for small children and a basketball court, a football ground and 2 swimming pools.

 

Music and Dance:

English, Nepali and Tibetan songs, dances, dramas and instrumental music and taught. Every year, the school presents a cultural program for the parents on parents’ Day.

Painting: (for aesthetic values) An annual art / panting competition is also held.

Supw: (for work experience and dignity of labor) Gardening, tree plantation, compound cleaning, first aid, road maintenance and social service etc. are arranged occasionally.

Excursion: To widen the awareness of the children, sometimes the students are taken to historical places and so on. Every year, Class IX students are taken for educational excursion outside Kathmandu Valley.

Hiking: Children are also taken out for walks and hikes in the country side to expose themselves to the nature and enjoy its beauty.

Exhibition: Fete, Art, Craft and Science Exhibitions are held occasionally.

For healthy competition in the activities, the school is divided into four houses, namely- Mt. Everest (Green), Mt. Kailash (Yellow), Mt.Machhapuchre (Red) and Mt. Annapurna (Blue). Suitable prizes and certificates are awarded to individual and group work for academic, co-curricular activities, cleanliness and conduct.

Note:

i) It is compulsory for all the students to take part in  co-curricular activities unless the school doctor has advised  them not to take part in any of the activities on health grounds.

ii) Only limited activities are conducted for Classes ix and x.
